easter 2009

sorry!! i've already been slacking on uploading pics and blogging and I just created this page. i should rename this blog, "our every month adventures" :(

anyways, where did April go? seriously! I can't believe its going to be May tomorrow. Reese had some fun these past few weeks that I need to catch you guys up on.
Easter 2009:
We set up an easter egg hunt for Reesey at our local neighborhood park. This was her first time since she was a little too young last Easter. She quickly started to understand the whole "find the egg and put in basket" concept. First we pointed to the eggs and she would smile and laugh when she saw it. Then she started finding the eggs on her own. Soon her basket was too heavy for her to carry. Once she realized there was candy in the eggs, it was over. She was bouncing off the walls. We were happy to see that she enjoyed the egg hunt!

can't hide from me

i'm so good

reese in the city

Okay, so lets start getting some pictures up here! This past weekend was action packed for little Reese. We started off going to a basketball game on Thursday night, Wizards vs. Cavaliers, at the Verizon Center. Anytime we go to a game, everyone always asks, "Do you guys bring Reese?"... of course we do! Reese has gone to every single basketball game with us since she's been born. Her first game (and shall I add first Pistons game) was when she was about four months old! Here's the proof....

We bring her to games, not because we don't have a babysitter, but because we want to expose her to the NBA as early in her life as possible (as you may or may not know, she's was born to huge nba fans!!!). Plus, we love to take full advantage of the fact that she's FREE! Anyways, we couldn't have picked a more exciting game to go to. She clapped and cheered every time the crowd did, making her dad very proud. She also danced along to the music. Reesey also enjoyed her cheese pizza and of course her banana split Dippin' Dots!! On our way out, we bought her a pink Wizards ball so she could practice at home!

On Sunday, we went to the city to see the Cherry Blossoms with her Auntie Joy. It was an absolute beautiful day outside! The Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom. Reese had fun walking around looking at all the dogs, but she didnt notice the flowers much...haha! maybe when she is a little older! Overall, we had a great weekend :)

Why Now?

I recently decided to create a blog to document our everyday adventures with our babygirl, Reese Gabriella. I wish I started when she was first born, but my "spare time" was limited (or should I say non-existent), plus I just wanted to truly enjoy the first year with her.

So lets just catch up for a bit.....
Our family has been living in the DC area for a few years now. Reese is almost 17 months!!! (so cliche, but man, has time flown by). Reggie and I both work and we had to find someone to take care of Reese during the day. Fortunately we were able to find a really great auntie to watch her (thanks to a friend). We love spending our time learning new things with Reese and taking advantage of the numerous things this area has to offer! Reese has already been to a number of great museums, attended Obama's inauguration activities, cheered at multiple NBA games, seen cherry blossoms, etc. We are fortunate to live an area that has so much going on.

Its pretty much just us three everyday, and I can't complain much about that! Its been tough for Reggie and I not having our extended family closeby, nobody to watch her when we just want to have dinner or go to a movie.... I'm not sure when our last "date" was, definitely well over a year ago. We've gotten used to that and we've adjusted (kid friendly restaurants and dvd rentals). I guess its just tougher for Reesey cause she doesn't get to see her aunties and uncles a lot, or doesn't get to play with her cousins often, or doesn't get her time to get spoiled by her grandparents. Plus, the few times we do make it down to Virginia Beach, our time is EXTREMELY limited....trying to spend quality time with everyone has proven to be a huge challenge. This is the ultimate reason I created this blog, so our everyday adventures can be shared with our family and close friends.

Oh and another (minor) reason, I have yet to succumb to the peer pressues of creating a Facebook! So hopefully everyone that wants updated pictures of Reesey, our little peanut butter cup, can just visit this site.
